The expertise of a motorcycle attorney would be useful after a man died over the weekend in a solo motorcycle accident in North Fork, California. The California Highway Patrol recorded the accident on Sunday afternoon, June 14.
The CHP dispatched officers to the scene of the traffic wreck at about 2:20 p.m. after receiving several calls from passersby. Other commuters plying the route discovered the motorcyclist and reported the incident, which took place on Road 200, a few miles north of Road 222.
Preliminary investigations revealed the fatal victim, identified as Steven Walling, 71, of North Fork, was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Road 200. For reasons still under investigation, the rider lost control of the motorbike, causing it to flip over and crash into a pavement.
When Emergency response crews arrived, they found the elderly man lying unresponsive on the roadway, near his dented motorcycle. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Officials from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office and CAL FIRE were also at the scene. Sierra Ambulance EMTs also responded.
No other casualty resulted from the encounter, nor was any other vehicle involved. The reports affirmed that no one witnessed the crash.
Investigators do not believe impairment by drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. An investigation into the motorcycle wreck is ongoing.
In situations such as this, it is advisable to involve an experienced motorcycle attorney who could conduct an independent probe and determine the circumstances leading to the accident.
