Coroner Names Cesar Constante as San Leandro Accident Victim

The Alameda County Coroner’s Office revealed the San Lorenzo man’s identity who died in a car crash in the San Leandro area of California. Updated reports of the car accident released on Thursday, July 16th, named Cesar Bautista Constante, 20, as the fatal victim.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Saturday, July 11th, at about 2:47 a.m. on Interstate Highway 880. It happened precisely on the Davis Street off-ramp along the Highway. Officer Dustin Kennerly said that Constante was traveling alongside an unidentified male in the crashed car.

The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire and ejected one of the occupants while the other was trapped inside. When officers arrived, there was nothing they could for the men and declared the two dead. The initial reports placed the age of the victims in their 20s or 30s.

The circumstances that led to the crash remain unknown, and the CHP has not released additional information. The investigation is ongoing.

Car crashes are not usually fiery unless there’s an underlying condition before or after the accident. One of the common causes of fiery collisions is a fluid leakage, with gasoline being the most corrosive and flammable liquid a car carries. It can quickly catch fire from a single spark.

Forgetting or neglecting to take care of a vehicle increases its chances to catch fire, especially if there are broken parts, faulty wiring, or leaky seals. Other causes are design flaws, electrical and hybrid vehicle batteries, overheating catalytic converters, overheating engines, spilled fluids, or arson.
