Santa Ana Police Release Details of Gabriel Arce’s Arrest for Elder Abuse

On Wednesday, October 14th, the Santa Ana Police Department, California, revealed that they arrested a man for elder abuse at a nursing home. Gabriel Arce allegedly exposed his genitals and brushed it against the hand of an older woman in a wheelchair.

The 46-year-old Anaheim resident was booked on Thursday, October 8th, on suspicion of sexual battery, indecent exposure, and elder abuse. The police said they released him the following day after he posted bail.

The investigators said six days before the arrest, the suspect victimized the 73-year-old patient under his care at South Coast Post Acute Facility on 1030 W. Warner Avenue. He had worked at the facility as a nurse and unit supervisor for over a year.

The police said another employee at the health care facility walked into the room where the incident allegedly happened and reported it to the authorities. Since his arrest, Arce has not been in contact with any patient from the nursing home.

South Coast representatives have not released a statement on the incident, and they have not confirmed or denied if the suspect is still working for them. The man has worked with at least two health care facilities in California since 2011.

The SAPD believe Arce may have other victims. They asked anyone who might have information useful to the investigators to call Detective Corona on the listed line. Those who desire to remain anonymous should contact the OC Crime Stoppers by calling 855-TIP-OCCS (855-847-6227).
