A brush fire that raged through 80 acres of Los Angeles shut down Sepulveda Boulevard and nearby onramps and offramps. The fire, which originated from an accident with a brush clearance crew, required the Los Angeles Fire Department to report to the scene following the Wednesday afternoon accident, which fire officials reported as 90 percent contained that night. As a result of the Los Angeles brush fire, up to 2400 people were evacuated from the Getty Center to escape possible dangers from the brush fire. Mount St. Mary’s College was evacuated as well. The Los Angeles brush fire shut down freeway 405 through Tuesday as California Highway Patrol handled the aftermath of the fire. One firefighter was injured during the Wednesday fire, but no other injuries were reported.
