Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Modesto Identified as Allan Arreola Hernandez

A man died over the weekend in Modesto, California after a vehicle he was driving crashed into a concrete barrier, leaving his two passengers injured. The accident reports confirmed that the deceased’s wife, on Monday, April 13, disclosed his identity as Allan Arreola Hernandez, a 33-year-old Modesto resident.

The fatal collision took place at about 10 pm on Saturday, April 11, along North Ninth Street.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the motorist was traveling southbound in a 2000 Lexus LS430 when the accident happened.

The Lexus was reportedly moving above the permissible speed limit. Just as it approached the intersection of Woodland and Coldwell avenues, it encountered a concrete barrier on the east side of the street and slammed into it.

The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to become airborne, overturning multiple times before finally coming to a halt near the intersection.

The operator of the Lexus was fatally injured in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

The two other occupants of the Lexus, Roberto Rosales, 20, and Martin Castelan, 27, also suffered major injuries and were transported to an area hospital, where they were listed in stable conditions.

The results of the toxicology tests ordered on the fatal victim would determine whether intoxication was a factor in the single-vehicle accident.

A spokesperson for the Modesto Police Department, Sharon Bear, said the results could take several weeks before it is confirmed, after which it would be indicated in the accident reports.
