Carlos Chavez Aguirre, 39 died in a horrific hit and run accident on January 11, 2020 in Glendale, Arizona.
At around 7:15 p.m., Chavez Aguirre was crossing the street along near 49th Ave and Glendale Ave with his 17-year-old daughter. As a dark brown 2003-2006 Chevy Silverado single cab truck bore down on them, he pushed his daughter out of the way.
The Silverado struck Chavez Aquirre head on and sped away. He died at the scene.
His daughter is recovering from a possible collarbone fracture.
The Chavez family has established a GoFundMe page to raise money for Carlos’ funeral expenses and his daughter’s medical costs. Chavez Aguirre was a single father with four children.
Glendale Police are now searching for that dark brown Chevy Silverado, which is lifted and has tinted windows and oversized wheels. It may also have front-end damage from the hit and run collision. If you have any information, please call them at 623-930-3000
