Anthony Choza Identified as the Man Killed in Fresno Pedestrian Accident

The coroner of Fresno County, California, on Friday, March 20th, identified the man who died in a pedestrian accident in the county. Anthony Choza, 32, died after getting hit by a vehicle in the early hours of Thursday, March 19th.

According to the coroner, the deceased passed away from the wounds sustained when the car struck him, and his body landed on the ground. His death was ruled as an accident, and there will be no toxicology report.

Choza was knocked down at about 4 a.m. in Central Fresno, precisely at North Weber on West Princeton avenues. The preliminary accident report showed that the man was walking on the roadway when a pickup truck hit him.

By the time first responders arrived, Choza was already dead. The driver of the pickup, whose name was not stated in the report, stayed behind at the scene to give his statement to the police.

There is no additional information on the accident at the time of this report. However, traffic officials have reiterated that drivers and pedestrians should exercise extreme caution on the roadway to prevent fatalities.

The worst pedestrian accident occurs when the body makes direct contact with a vehicle, and not when the person falls on the road. The type and severity of the injury a person sustains depends on factors like where he or she was standing relative to the front of the car.

The speed of the car, the type and shape of the car, the type of bumper, hood, and windshield, and the age and height of the pedestrian, are also contributing factors.
