The family of a fatal crash victim who died earlier this week has launched a funeral fund on GoFundMe. The funds from the account will help towards the funeral arrangements of the deceased Jaime Herrera.
The accident which caused the death of Herrera took place on Tuesday, March 10. It was a two-vehicle accident that took place on the U.S. 55 in Bolingbrook. Herrera was traveling northbound on the road when he seems to have lost control of the vehicle. The accident took place in the evening at around 7 p.m.
As Herrera lost control of the vehicle, he hit a concrete barrier. Another vehicle traveling right behind Herrera’s then struck his vehicle, causing it to overturn. Herrera sustained critical injuries in the collision. The driver of the other vehicle was also injured, although her injuries were not critical.
Herrera was rushed to a local hospital where he died of his injuries. The GoFundMe account now remembers Herrera as a vital member of the Herrera family. In the words of the family, he was ‘a pilar (sic) of strength and stability in our family, a cherished son, brother, uncle and friend.’
The online campaign aims to raise $12,000 for the funeral arrangements and related expenses. So far, the campaign has been able to raise around $1,420. A deadline for the campaign isn’t mentioned on the page, so the actual date of the funeral is not clear at this time, although it is likely that the funeral will be held in Franklin Park which is where the Herrera family resides.
