An accident report update from Fresno, California, disclosed the name of an older bicyclist who passed away in a collision in the city. On Tuesday, May 26th, the authorities named the victim Steven Meunier, 22, of Clovis.
On the south side of Millerton Road, the fatal accident occurred at about noon on Sunday, May 24th, at Auberry Road. The preliminary investigation conducted by the California Highway Patrol uncovered that Meunier was cycling southbound on the road’s right shoulder, with a motorcycle rider coming behind him.
The investigators said for unknown reasons, the victim suddenly turned around directly in front of the motorcycle. The act caused the latter to strike the former, and the impact left Meunier with fatal wounds. He succumbed to them at the scene.
The motorcyclist whose name and gender remains undisclosed sustained minor wounds, and an ambulance conveyed him to Community Regional Medical Center. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and the police would release any new detail later.
