A car accident lawyer would come in handy following the death of a man in a two-vehicle crash in Red Bluff, California. The California Highway Patrol disclosed the victim’s identity as Daniel Bruno, 26, in a news release on Wednesday, June 3.
The CHP dispatched officers to the scene of the crash at about 4:27 p.m on Monday, June 1, shortly after witnesses reported the incident. Police said two vehicles collided in the area of Paskenta Road, near Rancho Tehama Road. At least two people died in the encounter.
Preliminary reports showed that Bruno was traveling through the south traffic lanes of Paskenta Road in a 2001 Honda Civic. He suddenly lost control of his vehicle and veered into oncoming traffic.
Before he could regain control, the Honda collided with an approaching northbound vehicle, a 2003 Ford E250 utility van. Bruno and his unidentified female passenger suffered fatal injuries in the collision.
Meanwhile, the driver of the utility van abandoned his vehicle and fled the crash site before law enforcement arrived. CHP officials are yet to disclose details of his identity and whereabouts. No other information about the accident is available at this time.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Investigators would try to determine whether speed, distracted driving, or intoxication played a role in the accident.
Anyone who has lost a loved one in a traffic collision should endeavor to reach out to a car accident lawyer who could review the case and determine the next line of action.
