The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has disclosed the name of a female motorist who died last week in a two-vehicle crash in Fresno, California. On Sunday, August 23rd, she was identified as Sukhjinder Kaur, a 45-year-old Fresno resident.
The Fresno County Authorities recorded the collision at precisely 1 p.m. on Friday, August 31st. Accident reports obtained suggest that the crash involved a Honda Civic and an Izuzu utility box truck. The victim, operating the Civic, was traveling northbound on Temperance Avenue. Upon approaching the intersection of Central Avenue, the woman failed to yield to a stop sign.
As a result, she drove directly into the path of the utility truck, which was crossing the intersection westbound on Central. The truck struck the driver’s side of the Civic, causing severe damages.
First responders pronounced Sukhjinder Kaur dead when they arrived. The right-front passenger of the Honda Civic also suffered injuries, and an ambulance conveyed the victim to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition. None of the occupants in the utility truck sustained any injury.
The California Highway Patrol records show that all the involved parties were wearing seatbelts when the crash occurred. Investigators are yet to determine the cause of the collision but ruled out alcohol as a factor.
Some of the most common causes of Highway accidents in California are speed, distracted driving, impairment, and impatience. In this case, impatience is a likely cause as Kaur clearly ran a stop sign, as evident in the accident reports. Further investigations could, however, unveil a more probable factor.
