Gustavo Ibarra Arrested Following High-Speed Police Chase and Car Crash in Fairfield

On Tuesday, August 11th, the Solano County Sheriff’s Office, California, arrested a man after he crashed his car following a high-speed chase in the city. 21-year-old Gustavo Ibarra would need a top accident lawyer’s representation.

Sheriff’s officials said that the events leading to the man’s arrest began with a report of a stolen white Chrysler 200 from Suisun on Monday, August 10th. At some point on Tuesday, officers with the Vacaville Police Department spotted the same car and tried to get the driver to pull over.

The motorist drove off, starting a chase. However, the VPD had to pull out when it became dangerous. Later in the afternoon, a sheriff’s detective spotted the same car in Fairfield, and deputies converged on it as it sped away on Highway 12.

During the pursuit, the speeds got to 110 miles per hour, and the suspect eventually crashed near the transition road of H-12 and Interstate 80. Ibarra, who drove the vehicle, exited it and tried to run away, but the deputies caught him.

The SCSO said that this is the fourth arrest of the Fairfield resident in four months in connection to a stolen vehicle. In addition to a theft charge, the police charged him with recklessly evading law enforcement.

The investigators added that they recovered several items stolen from burglaries in the area from the crashed Chevrolet. The investigation remains active, and the sheriff’s office will release updates as events unfold.
