Javier Carrilo Fatally Injured in Ventura County Three-Vehicle Collision

A man died last week after a vehicle he was driving was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura County, California. The incident took place on Friday, May 1, and may require the expertise of a car accident lawyer.

According to reports by the California Highway Patrol, at least three vehicles were involved in the traffic crash that happened on the Highway, off Deer Creek Road, at about 11:14 am.

Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the vehicles was a 2005 International box truck, driven by the fatal victim along the south travel lanes of Pacific Coast Highway.

The box truck was traveling directly behind a 2002 Ford flatbed construction truck. The flatbed truck suddenly slowed down to make a left turn onto Deer Creek Drive, causing the box truck operator, who failed to slow down on time, to crash into it.

The impact of the collision forced the southbound Ford to veer into the north lanes of travel, and there, it collided with another vehicle, a northbound 2011 Subaru SUV. All three motorists sustained injuries in the wreck.

Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after and pronounced the box truck operator dead. His name was revealed as Javier Carrillo, 42, of Oxnard.

Meanwhile, the Ford driver suffered moderate injuries, while the motorist operating the Subaru, was severely injured. Both men were transported to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment.

The accident shut down parts of Pacific Coast Highway until the three wrecked vehicles were towed from the scene.

Victims of car crashes can consult an experienced car accident lawyer to determine the next line of action.
