Update: Corey La Barrie’s Family Suing Daniel Silva For Wrongful Death

YouTuber Corey La Barrie’s parents are taking legal action against tattoo artist Daniel Silva following their son’s passing in a crash on May 10.

Simon La Barrie and Lissa Burton are suing Silva and his business Daniel Silva Tattoos with help from a car injury attorney.

They claim Silva was negligent prior to La Barrie’s death on his 25th birthday.

Multiple celebrity news outlets said La Barrie’s family is alleging that Silva was driving at an unsafe speed while he was with their son. They also claim he broke California law by failing to use reasonable care.

In addition, the lawsuit alleges that Silva was under the influence of alcohol and/or other substances that were provided by his tattoo company.

La Barrie parents are reportedly claiming compensatory damages, lawsuit-related costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and any relief that’s fair and equitable.

The action stems from an accident that occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. at the corner of Hutson Street and Carpenter Avenue.

The Los Angeles Police Department said a 2020 McLaren 600LT was going east on Huston Street at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Police said the driver then ran off the road and smashed into a stop sign and a tree.

The authorities said Silva got out of the vehicle and tried to leave the crash site. However, he was stopped by individuals who came to help.

La Barrie died in hospital.

Silva was arrested and charged with murder and he pleaded not guilty on May 20. His bail is review is set for May 27 and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 30.
