Wilshire Grand Construction Worker Dies After Falling From Highrise


construction worker on the new Wilshire Grand tower in Downtown Los Angeles was killed after a long fall from the highrise construction site

The worker fell from the 53rd floor, and hit a passing car on the 600 block of Figueroa Street. The worker was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the vehicle was treated by emergency personnel for her injuries.

Pending notifications, victims’ names have not been released.

The Wilshire Grand, when completed, will be the tallest building in Los Angeles at 1,099ft, and the first in many years to be built without a flat roof. Currently the US Bank Tower (formerly Library Tower) reigns the tallest at 1,018 ft.
