The authorities on Monday, February 24th, released the details of the accident that happened on Thursday, February 20th, on Highway 101, California. It left Edgar Moso, 26, severely injured.

According to the report, the multi-vehicle crash happened at about 8 a.m. Moso was heading south in a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta when he got hit by a Ford F-150, driven by David Tankersley, 35.

The driver of the Ford was heading north and driving at an estimated speed of 60 miles per hour when the accident occurred. Tankersley started the chain of events when he suddenly crossed the double yellow lines on the road.

The cross over put the Ford in the southbound lane where it had a head-on collision with Moso’s Jetta near the Green Bridge. The impact of the crash sent the young man’s vehicle into the northbound lanes, where he crashed with the 2016 Freightliner tow truck, driven by Jonathan Balderas, 28.

The impact of the second collision sent Moso back into the southbound lanes where he crashed with a 2020 Ford Fusion, driven by 22-year-old Michelle Galindo. The young man and the female driver got severely injured and were transported to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Tankersley and Balderas had minor injuries and got treated at the scene without going to the hospital. The four drivers involved all had seat belts on, which reduced the impact of the crash.

Gasoline spilled on the scene, and the Caltrans and Mendocino County Environmental Health handled the cleaning. It led to a closure of the road for several hours, with traffic directed to a single lane.

The CHP is leading the investigation into the crash and will update the public once they have more information.
