Authorities of the Orange County Sheriff Department have disclosed the identity of the bicyclist killed two weeks ago in a traffic collision after he was tragically hit by a motorist in the Laguna Niguel area of Orange County, California. The victim’s identity was made public on Wednesday, March 18, naming him as Robert Calvin, 83.

The fatal incident took place on the morning of Thursday, March 5. The office of the county’s Sheriff Coroner said the fatality was reported at about 9:54 am, asserting that at least one road user was down, in front of Alicia Woods Canyon Park.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the traffic disaster and discovered the scene as described. Emergency responders pronounced the bicycle rider dead upon examination. The deceased was reportedly a resident of Laguna Niguel in Orange County, California.

Detectives investigating the car versus bicycle collision determined that the bicycle rider was moving through Alicia Parkway and Awma Road when an SUV, driven by an unidentified motorist, struck and killed him right at the entrance of Alisa Woods Canyon Park.
