Shawn Williams Identified as Boy Who Died in Orangevale Pedestrian Accident

The young pedestrian who died after running into oncoming traffic in Orangevale, California, has been identified. The authorities revealed his name as Shawn Williams on Sunday, April 12th, and it seems the services of a car injury attorney won’t be required.

The California Highway Patrol said that the teenage boy for reasons they have not uncovered ran into traffic. The accident occurred at about 6:15 p.m. on Friday, April 10th, at Hazel and Oak avenues.

Williams was struck by a vehicle and sustained severe injuries. The medics at the scene found him unresponsive, and they pronounced him dead. The driver that struck the boy pulled over, stayed at the scene, and notified the authorities.

The driver cooperated with the police, and it doesn’t appear like he would get cited. There is currently no additional information on the accident, and the investigation is ongoing.

Accidents often leave those involved scared and in a state of panic. Authorities have advised road users to do away with the two, and maintain a calm state. Those in an accident should stop at the scene or the nearest possible place.

Next, the person should assess the scene to see if anyone sustained an injury or if there’s a damaged property. If either of the two or both occurred, place a call to the police and try to gather witness statements before they arrive.

Give the police a concise statement of what led to the accident, including driver’s license and contact information. If the driver was negligent in any way, he or she should contact a car injury attorney for legal advice and representation.
