The police in Clayton, California, on Wednesday, March 25th, arrested the woman who caused a fatal crash in the city. Myishia Turner, 25, was taken into custody and detained for causing the accident that killed a passenger in the vehicle she was driving.
The fatal traffic collision occurred on Tuesday, March 24th, on Clayton Road at about 9:35 a.m. Turner was in the area near Duncan Drive when she veered off the road and crashed into a parked work truck.
The authorities did not reveal if the owner of the work truck was in the vehicle at the time or if he or she got injured. They identified Turner’s deceased passenger as a 24-year-old male from Oakland.
The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Her arrest came after she was released from the hospital, and she was detained on suspicion of DUI.
Turner was booked into the county jail, and there’s no information on her bond at the time of this report. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is one of the leading causes of accidents in California and the United States of America.
When driving under the influence, brain function gets reduced, leading to the impairment of the driver’s thoughts, reasoning, and muscle coordination. The more intoxicated a person is, the more a person’s central nervous system gets affected.
When it comes to alcohol, California law provides that a driver should not have more than .08 blood alcohol concentration in his or her system. The smallest level can affect a person’s mind, so drivers should never drink and drive.
