The Los Angeles Police Department said in the car accident report that they received a call about the occurrence around 3:20 a.m. on Friday, September 11th. It took place at 41st Street and Western Avenue.
The investigators said that Patterson was southbound on Western when he lost control of his car for an unknown reason. The vehicle struck a power pole and fell power lines. The man died at the scene.
