One pedestrian was killed, and another seriously injured, after they were hit by a car while crossing the steet in the Mira Mesa neighborhood of San Diego on Thursday.
The crash occurred approximately at around 6 a.m., when a Honda driven by a 26-year-old male traveling eastbound ran a red light and collided with the two pedestrians crossing the intersection of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Marbury Avenue. The driver of the vehicle stopped and cooperated with authorities.
A 59-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 64-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries, including a head injury and a broken femur. The female victim has been identified as Lilian Sta Romana Ramos, a resident of San Diego.
