Pedestrian Killed Crossing Street In Santee

A 67-year-old woman was struck and killed by a luxury sedan Thursday morning as she was crossing a street near Padre Dam Park. The woman’s name has been withheld, pending family notification.

Sheriff’s officials said that the pedestrian had been crossing the 10500 block of Mission Gorge Road in Santee when a westbound 2006 Cadillac CTS hit her about 9:30 a.m.

Medics took the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, where she was pronounced dead, Lt. Anthony O’Boyle said.

The 82-year-old woman who drove the Cadillac was not injured in the accident.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office said that drugs, alcohol or speed did not appear to be a factor in the accident.
