Two motorists were injured in the Victorville area of California after a woman, reportedly fleeing an earlier confrontation, ran a red light and collided with a jeep. A car injury lawyer may be called upon to access the damages caused by the accident which took place on Tuesday, April 7.

Officers responded to the traffic collision at precisely 10:56 pm and found two severely wrecked vehicles at the intersection of Amargosa Road and Roy Rogers Drive.

Investigators determined that one of the motorists, identified as Shayna Alexander, 30, was driving a white 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, southbound on Amargosa.

Upon approaching an intersection at Roy Rogers Drive, the Malibu driver failed to yield to the red light. As a result, she collided with an oncoming black 2013 Jeep, which had the right of way, causing both vehicles to roll over.

A metal traffic-signal light pole was also dislodged in the crash. Following the incident, the operator of the jeep, 22-year old David Salazar pulled himself out of the wreck, while Alexander remained trapped inside.

Victorville Fire Department Personnel responding at the scene rescued the female motorist from her vehicle, using heavy-rescue equipment to create an exit access on the roof.

The Chevrolet driver was then transported to Victor Valley Global Medical by air ambulance, from where she was transferred to a trauma center. David complained of major pain in his abdominal area and was examined by paramedics.

Officers later discovered that the female motorist was a suspect in a family argument that ensued earlier on the 16100 block. Alexander reportedly pulled a bb gun at some point before fleeing the argument scene.

Accident victims can contact a car injury lawyer right after the accident to weigh all the available options and most likely, file an injury lawsuit against the liable party.
