Solano County Crash Victim Identified as Jose Villegas Garcia

Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal crash that took place in the Solano County over the weekend. The deceased was identified by the Solano County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday, September 8 as Jose Villegas Garcia, 26, of Dixon, as per the latest accident reports.

According to the details shared by the California Highway Patrol, the accident which claimed the life of Garcia happened on Sunday, September 6. Garcia was traveling southbound on the Pedrick Road in Dixon at the time. His vehicle was identified by CHP as a blue Honda Accord.

Just as Garcia reached the intersection of the Pedrick Road and Main Prairie Road, he didn’t slow down or stop. In doing so, he neglected a stop sign that had been installed on the Main Prairie Road. As he continued driving through the intersection, his vehicle went over the dirt shoulder of the road and into the canal. The force with which the vehicle entered the canal then caused it to collide with the south embankment.

By the time the first responders and paramedics arrived at the scene of the crash, Garcia had already lost his life. He was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident. No other vehicles or persons were involved.

California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident. At this time, CHP is focused on determining what caused the driver to disregard the stop sign and continue driving through the intersection. CHP is looking at impaired driving as a potential cause of the crash. However, subsequent accident reports may confirm a definite cause.
