Authorities have released the identity of a teenage boy who died after his motorcycle collided with a passing vehicle in American Canyon, California. The Napa County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office, on Tuesday, May 5, named the fatal victim as Ivan Joaquin Ledesma, 17. The incident calls for the intervention of a motorcycle accident attorney.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the traffic collision shortly after 9:22 pm on Sunday, May 3, on Flosden Road.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the fatal victim was the operator and sole occupant of a Honda sportbike traveling through Flosden.
For reasons yet to be established, the motorcycle rider crashed into the passenger side of an Acura Integra, which was at the time negotiating a left turn onto Daniel Drive.
The impact of the collision caused the teenager to be thrown off his motorcycle, onto the ground, sustaining major injuries as a result.
First responders transported the injured motorcyclist to Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Ledesma eventually passed away from his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the operator of the Acura, who did not sustain injuries in the crash, stayed at the scene until the police arrived.
Authorities closed down Flosden Road while investigators gathered the necessary evidence from the accident scene. The road became accessible again about five hours later. The CHP is overseeing the investigation into the fatal collision that claimed Ledesma’s life.
Anyone involved in a motorcycle crash can get in touch with a motorcycle accident attorney for representation.
