Teenager Killed in Baldwin Park Identified as Ryan Milliner

A teenage boy who lost his life in a tragic multi-vehicle crash in Baldwin Park, California, has been identified. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, on Tuesday, May 12, released the fatal victim’s name as Ryan Milliner, 13. Authorities, however, did not indicate the involvement of auto accident attorneys.

The incident took place on Sunday afternoon, May 10, in the San Bernardino 10 Freeway, just west of the Francisquito Avenue off-ramp. Police said it involved no fewer than five vehicles that collided at about 1:40 p.m.

According to the initial reports obtained from the California Highway Patrol, a flatbed tow truck initiated the fatal wreck. The 2008 International DuraStar Flatbed tow truck was eastbound on 10 Freeway, in lane #5 when he encountered a traffic jam. The truck driver failed to stop in time to avoid smashing into other vehicles in front of him.

As a result, the tow-truck struck a 2018 Toyota Corolla from the rear. The 29-year-old female motorist from La Puente sustained major blunt force trauma in the collision.

The tow truck also struck a 2018 Nissan Murano from behind. Milliner was traveling as a passenger in the back rear seat at the time and suffered fatal injuries. The driver and three other passengers in the vehicle sustained moderate to major injuries after the car hit the median.

A passing 2004 Dodge Ram truck conveying two occupants from Norfolk slammed into the right front of the Nissan and got disabled. A 2018 Lexus IS200T conveying four Covina residents also struck the Nissan. The occupants survived the crash without injuries.

Meanwhile, the Toyota initially struck by the tow truck smashed into a 2019 Kia Niro directly in front of it. The Kia, in turn, hit the rear of a 2008 Honda Odyssey and a 2008 Honda CRV. The occupants of the three rear-ended vehicles emerged from the collision unscathed.

Officers said the Honda went off the #5 lane, into lane number four, where it rear-ended a 2000 Corolla, which smashed into the flatbed truck. The three occupants in the corolla sustained injuries.

Auto accident attorneys often get involved in such situations, as they can assist in reviewing the case to determine the liability. They can also represent the victims involved if it results in a legal suit.
