A deadly FedEx truck crash occurred in Illinois on January 11, 2020.

Taniialle Brown, 30, had recently moved to Cherry Valley, Illinois, from Flint Michigan. That night, she was driving eastbound on Interstate 90 with her 4-year-old child in the car. She ran out of gas at milepost 10.50, in Rockford, Illinois. So, she pulled off to the right side of the road.

At 1:20 a.m., Douglas Powell, 48, Onalaska, Wisconsin, was speeding along the highway in a FedEx International semi truck. He slammed into the stationary car.

The Cherry Valley Fire Department declared Brown dead at the scene. Then, they took the 4-year-old in Brown’s to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The FedEx truck driver, Douglas Powell, 48, Onalaska, Wisconsin, did not have any injuries.

Illinois State Police stated that they do not believe drugs or alcohol to be involved in this deadly FedEx truck crash. However, they issued Powell a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
