The motorcycle rider, identified as 62-year-old Glen Sault, a resident of Hopedale, for unknown reasons, lost control of the bike, causing him to crash. The cyclist suffered multiple severe injuries as a result.

His companions, along with a trauma doctor who witnessed the crash, tried to save the victim, administering life-saving measures on him until the emergency team arrived.

Officials from the Great Barrington Fire department, Southern Berkshire Ambulance, and the Stockbridge Police Department responded to the traffic collision.

The Southern Berkshire Ambulance transported Sault to Fairview Hospital, from where he was airlifted to Baystate Hospital. He succumbed to his fatal injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.

No other casualty was reported in the tragic crash.

The fatal incident remains under investigation by the Great Barrington Police Department as well as the Massachusetts State Police Unit. Investigators would try to determine what caused Sault to lose control and crash to his death.
