Motorist, Scott A. Lewis, Tragically Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision in Easton

At least one person was killed after two vehicles collided on 539 Bay Road in Easton, Massachusetts. The fatal crash took place on Sunday Afternoon, April 26, and may require the intervention of a car accident lawyer.

Officers responded at the location at about 1:50 pm following reports of a major highway accident that left two casualties in its wake.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the fatal victim was the driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles traveling along 539 Bay Road.

The two vehicles collided head-on for unknown reasons, sustaining major damages as a result.

Officers of the Easton Police department, as well as Fire department personnel present at the crash site, recovered the two motorists from the wreck. One of them, identified as  Scott A. Lewis, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second vehicle operator, whose name was not immediately disclosed, suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance. No other commuter was involved in the tragic wreck.

Following the crash, officers shut down Bay Road for hours, mounting roadblocks at the intersection to divert vehicles, until it was reopened at about 5 pm on the same day.

The exact circumstances leading to the crash remain unclear. Investigations, however, are still in the works to ascertain the cause and liability of the traffic collision.

A car accident lawyer representing the victims’ family can conduct an independent investigation and provide a basis for a wrongful death claim.
