Three casualties were reported in the Wellesley area of Massachusetts after a vehicle carrying three teenagers crashed into a stone wall. According to the accident reports, the incident took place at night on Wednesday, April 22.
Reporting the incident, police said it happened on Worcester Street, and the three teenagers involved may have been traveling at a high rate of speed.
As reported, the victims were traveling in a white pickup truck along Worcester Street when their vehicle spiraled out of control and swayed off the roadway.
The pickup kept moving until it crashed into a concrete wall. The impact of the collision caused the right front passenger, identified as 18-year-old Patrick Cash, to be ejected from the truck as soon as it came to rest.
Paramedics confirmed Cash dead at the scene upon their arrival. The other two occupants, both 17, whose identities were withheld because they were juveniles, remained trapped in the vehicle.
Fire rescue operatives rescued them from the wreck before they were transported to an area hospital. One of the hospitalized teens succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the health facility.
The other 17-year-old remains hospitalized and has been listed in stable condition. The accident reports did not ascertain whether drugs and alcohol were suspected as possible factors in the traffic wreck.
The incident remains under investigation by the Wellesley Police Department. The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office is also assisting in the investigation, led by the Wellesley Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit.
