A Cambridge woman seriously injured when she was struck by a vehicle Sunday has died from her injuries, Massachusetts State Police reported today.
Juzhen Feng, 74, at about 8:15 a.m. Sunday walked into a lane of traffic from between two parked vehicles on Memorial Drive near Ames Street in Cambridge, according to police. She was struck by a pickup truck that was driving west on Memorial Drive.
Police said first responders extricated Feng from underneath a parked sedan that was not involved in the incident and transported her to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The pickup driver, who only was identified by authorities as a 48-year-old Medford man, was not injured.
The roadway was shut down for about two hours as investigators worked at the scene. Traffic resumed at about 10:25 a.m., police said.
According to an update posted by the Massachusetts State Police this afternoon, Feng has since succumbed to her injuries. An exact time of death wasn’t released.
The incident remains under investigation by state police. The State Police Crime Scene Services Section, the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, the State Police Detective Unit and the Cambridge police and fire departments assisted at the scene.
