Ryan Reilly Arrested After Fleeing from Police and Crashing a Vehicle into Plymouth Harbor

Ryan Reilly, 39, would need a car accident lawyer after police arrested him for leading them on a chase and crashing the car he was driving into Plymouth Harbor, Massachusetts. The accident occurred early Wednesday morning, May 13. Police arrested the suspect after receiving a notification that he stole his mother’s car.

One of the officers spotted the vehicle on Court Street, but Reilly refused to pull over and drove off. However, officers continued to follow him onto Water Street. He drove the car into the parking lot of the state boat ramp and headed down the ramp, before going straight into the water.

The suspect got out of the car and began to charge at the officers, who used a stun gun on him before arresting him. Reilly wasn’t injured, but Plymouth firefighters took him to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital as a precaution.

The man faces multiple charges, including use without authority, failure to stop for police, and trespass by motor vehicle. Other charges against him include resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and malicious damage to a motor vehicle. The suspect also faces charges on the negligent operation of a motor vehicle and license revoked as a habitual traffic offender.

The authorities said that his arraignment is likely to hold later on Wednesday morning via teleconference. Reilly would need a car accident lawyer to represent him during court proceedings. Meanwhile, the police said that they would wait until low tide Wednesday morning to remove the vehicle from the harbor.
