A 3-year-old girl was seriously injured earlier this week after a car she was traveling in encountered an accident in Kennewick, Washington. The incident took place on Tuesday, April 21, and would require the involvement of a car injury lawyer.
The crash was reported at about 5:30 pm on the south travel lanes of Highway 397, near East 21th Avenue.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the suspect was driving a Kia Sorento southbound on the highway when she rear-ended a Honda Accord. The Accord, driven by 33-year-old Shamae Orosco of Kennewick, was reportedly negotiating a left turn onto a private driveway at the time.
The impact of the collision caused severe damages to the rear end of the Honda, injuring a toddler traveling in the vehicle.
Emergency responders transported the 3-year-old girl, whose name was not disclosed to Trios Southridge Hospital, where she is being treated for major injuries.
Meanwhile, the two occupants of the Kia emerged from the wreck unscathed. The Honda’s operator was also not harmed in the traffic collision.
Officers determined that Rodriguez was distracted at the time of the crash. However, the accident reports did not ascertain the source of her distraction, or why the female motorist was not looking at the road when the crash happened.
Rodriguez received citations for negligent driving and driving while being distracted.
No other information regarding the crash was released by the WSP officers, who are still investigating the incident.
Injured victims of car accidents can file a personal injury lawsuit under the guidance of a car injury lawyer.
