A motorcycle accident attorney may be required in the North Whidbey area of Washington after a man crashed his motorbike into the rear of a truck, and died as a result. The Washington State Patrol identified the deceased cyclist as Matthew Cramer, a 35-year-old resident of Oak Harbor, on Monday, May 4th.
The fatal collision was reported at night on Saturday, May 2nd. Troopers said the wreck involved a 2002 Yamaha XV1700 motorcycle and a Dodge Ram pickup, which collided at precisely 7:35 p.m.
As reported, the victim was traveling alone on the Yamaha motorcycle, riding above the permissible speed limit through the east lanes of Crescent Harbor Road. He bypassed many vehicles in his path before eventually rear-ending the pickup driven by Kristen Reiter, 50, who was at the time attempting a turn onto a private driveway.
The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet at the time, was thrown off his bike, sustaining multiple injuries as a result. Emergency responders pronounced Matthew Cramer dead at the scene. It was not immediately established whether the cyclist was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
WSP records show that the Crescent Harbor crash was the second motorcycle accident the fatal victim had been involved in less than one year. Speed was determined as a factor each time.
Motorcycle riders are advised to obey traffic regulation at all times and desist from exceeding the permissible speed limit while riding along highways. Victims of motorcycle accidents can seek legal counsel from an experienced motorcycle accident attorney to determine the next line of action.
