Woman Dead In Jefferson Park Hit-And-Run

A wife and mother of four grown children was killed early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run in Jefferson Park.

50-year-old Iris Davis was walking home with a cousin after an evening at a local bar. They were crossing Adams Boulevard, outside the crosswalk around 1:40 a.m. when Davis was struck by a vehicle.

Los Angeles Police are seeking help from the public with any information that would help in identifying the driver that fled the scene. The vehicle of unknown make and model had been traveling east on Adams at the time of the accident.

The victim was well-loved by friends and family. A vigil was held for her Saturday evening, but Davis’ husband, her high school sweetheart, was too grief-stricken to attend.

Her nephew, Robert Peevy, said “My auntie Iris, she was an amazing woman. She cooked, she made us laugh, she was always there. She was probably the most honest person I ever met in my entire life”.
