A bicyclist is dead after being hit by a car in Chicago.
The accident occurred at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night, in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago’s West Side. The bicyclist was travelling west on Division Street, and was crossing the intersection of Sacramento Avenue when he was hit by a car travelling north.
The bicyclist, who has been identified only as a 34-year-old male, was pronounced dead shortly afterwards at the nearby Stroger Hospital.
The driver, a 36-year-old male in a Chevrolet Cruise, stayed at the scene of the crash and cooperated with police. He was not ticketed, but the crash remains under investigation. It is possible that icy roads may have been a factor.
