A man in his 20s was killed in Lake Forest Thursday evening, after crashing a stolen Corvette while being pursued by police.

The Corvette was reported stolen in Mission Viejo at around 6:30, and at 7:30 police spotted the vehicle near Foxborough Way in Lake Forest.

Police attempted to pursue the vehicle, but it sped off. Shortly afterwards, they received a call notifying them that the vehicle had crashed at the intersection of Tabuco Road and Cherry Avenue.

The driver and suspected thief, whose identity has not yet been released, was killed instantly. Another vehicle was involved in the crash, although the driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
