Kaylinn Boling from Carson City Dies Near Galena Creek Bridge in Motor Vehicle Accident

Kaylinn Boling, 23 from Carson City was identified as the victim of a motor vehicle accident, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The accident occurred early Friday morning on I-580 in Washoe County near the Bowers Mansion exit. This information was reported by NHP Trooper Matt McLaughlin.

Troopers were dispatched to a major injury crash on Interstate 580 on Friday at around 2:30 a.m., south of the Galena Creek Bridge and north of the US-395 Alternate Bowers Mansion exit.

Data from the preliminary investigation shows that Kaylinn Boling was driving a light green 1999 Honda Civic sedan southbound on I-580, south of the Galena Creek Bridge. She mistakenly allowed the vehicle to move into the inside lane, hitting the median concrete barrier.

The car spun around and overturned, still moving to the south. As the car overturned, it ejected Boling, who was not wearing a seatbelt.

Ultimately, the car came to rest on its wheels on the leftmost travel lane and inside shoulder facing northeast, troopers reported.

Boling died on the spot from her injuries. When troops arrived, they closed off the two left lanes of southbound I-580 in order to investigate. They rerouted traffic into the outer shoulder and far right lane until all southbound lanes of travel were reopened at 6:30 a.m that day.

Law enforcement reminds drivers to always wear their seatbelts because it does make a difference. If she had not been ejected from the car, she might have lived as the accident was not one of the heaviest possible.
