An 18-year-old teen died in a tractor incident in the Huron County on February 24, Monday. The teen was accompanied by his grandfather at the time who also sustained injuries in the incident.

According to the details shared by the Huron County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at about 1:35 p.m. on Monday. Brandon Ricker, 18, was accompanying his grandfather Steward Bouverette, 72, on a Michigan farm close to the McMillan Road in Meade Township. The duo was riding a tractor which was also pulling a log splitter and a trailer at the time.

As the tractor rode close to a ditch, the muddy surface conditions caused the tractor to tip over. The tractor then fell into the ditch and pinned both men underneath. Bouverette was able to free himself from under the tractor. He also attempted to rescue his grandson Ricker who was trapped under the tractor. However, he was unable to do so because of the sheer weight of the tractor. Bouverette then ascended the ditch and sought help. Sergeant James Hunt was among the first to arrive on the scene of the incident to lend help. However, he and Bouverette failed to lift the tractor and rescue Ricker. As more help and rescue personnel arrived, a loader was used to lift up the tractor and free Ricker. Ricker had died by this time from the injuries sustained in the incident. The Huron County
