Juan Molina and Yisel Rucoba Killed in 6-Vehicle Crash

A couple was killed on Sunday night in a six-vehicle crash in northwest Harris County.

Authorities say one of the victims, Juan Molina, was speeding in a 2017 Dodge Challenger when the crash happened in the 2900 block of west Mount Houston around 7:25 p.m.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Molina and his partner, Yisel Rucoba, were traveling in an eastbound lane when the Challenger switched lanes unsafely.

It was hit by a 2016 Chrysler 200 driven by Lamberto Vazquez.

The Challenger then spun into oncoming traffic and caused a chain-reaction of crashes.

The Challenger was subsequently hit by a maroon Honda Accord going westbound on W. Mount Houston.

A man by the name of Joseph Farrell was in this vehicle which swivelled clockwise and was hit by a white Honda Accord driven by Ut-Em Pham and also occupied by Hue Tran.

Meanwhile, Saul Torres and his 12-year-old child were also heading westbound in a 2006 Chrysler 300 and Sarahi Ramos was traveling behind them in a 2007 Nissan Xterra.

Farrell’s car kept spinning clockwise and it was hit once by Ramos. According to the authorities, Ramos’ car hit the Challenger at the same time, causing it to spin again before being struck by Torres’ vehicle.

Responders had to cut Torres and his child out of their car. They were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center with serious injuries.

Molina and Rucoba were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Vehicular Crimes Division of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office is continuing investigations into the crash.
