Authorities: Amanda Zanger Dies After Rollover Crash Near Marblehead


A woman who was seriously injured in a rollover crash Sunday morning near Marblehead had died, authorities announced Monday.

Amanda Zanger, 28, of Plainville, died at Blessing Hospital, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Department. The exact time of death wasn’t immediately released by authorities.

Sheriff’s department officials said Zanger was driving on Illinois 57 at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday when she lost control of her vehicle, causing it to roll several times. Both Zanger and her passenger, a 5-year-old girl whom authorities did not publicly name, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Zanger later was pronounced dead, according to the sheriff’s department. The girl’s injuries were described as minor.

Authorities said charges related to driving under the influence were under consideration prior to Zanger’s death. Additional details about what might have led to the crash weren’t immediately released.
