Authorities: Louis Palsgaard Killed In Suspected Road Rage Crash Near Reno

Nevada Highway Patrol officials have released the name of a motorcyclist killed in a suspected road rage crash last week.

Louis E. Palsgaard, 29, died after he was thrown from his motorcycle on U.S. 580 near the Reno-Tahoe Airport off-ramp, troopers said this week. His body was discovered several hours after the wreck, which occurred at about 7 p.m. Friday, March 6.

Troopers said Palsgaard was driving south on U.S. 580 approaching the off-ramp for the airport when a suspected road rage incident occurred. Investigators have not revealed many details so far, but they believe that at some point, Palsgaard’s motorcycle hit a concrete barrier and he was thrown.

Palsgaard fell to Plumb Lane, where he later was found, authorities said.

Family and friends started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Palsgaard’s loved ones. The campaign had raised about $3,500 as of Thursday evening.

“(Palsgaard) impacted a lot of people’s lives with (his) happy-go-lucky, carefree nature,” organizers wrote on the page. “I hope you’re riding your dirt bikes and doing everything you’ve always loved in Heaven.”

Troopers are asking for public assistance finding witnesses to the event, as well as information about the other vehicle involved in the road rage incident. They believe the other person involved was driving a pickup truck.
