Vista DUI Motorist, Adam Daniel Barooshian Convicted of Multiple Felonies

Months after the demise of 29-year-old Christopher Williams in a vehicle-versus-motorcycle crash in Vista, California, the DUI driver responsible for the collision has been convicted by a state court.

The drunk driver, identified as 26-year-old Adam Daniel Barooshian from Massachusetts, was on Thursday, March 12th, found guilty of serious charges, ranging from DUI to vehicular manslaughter.

The tragic accident took place just before dawn on January 1st, on a rural Bonsall-area road. Prosecutors alleged that the 26-year-old was traveling at high speed, along the eastbound traffic lane of State Route 76 in a Lexus IS 300 at about 4 a.m. on new year’s day.

At the same time, the victim was riding his motorcycle through the route when the impaired driver struck the motorcyclist, killing him instantly. The operator of the car suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Emergency responders arrived shortly after and took the injured motorist to Palomar Medical center, where he received treatment.

Oceanside Police officers determined that the vehicle driver was intoxicated, with a blood-alcohol level of 0.18% at the time of the fatal collision.

Hours after his treatment, the drunk motorist was detained at the County jail, on charges of suspected driving under the influence of alcohol and murder.

Following the recent court hearing, the Massachusetts native was found guilty and convicted for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI causing bodily injuries.

However, the court is yet to give a verdict on the second-degree murder charge leveled against Adam. The fate of the convicted felon concerning the murder charge would be decided in another court hearing slated for April 21st.
