Police: Beverly Harrison Killed In 3-Vehicle Wreck In Forest Park

Authorities said a woman was killed in a fiery multi-car wreck Monday afternoon in Forest Park.

Beverly Harrison, 62, died in the crash, according to Forest Park police. They said at least one other person was injured in the incident, which occurred at about 3:15 p.m. Monday.

Investigators said Harrison was driving south on Des Plaines Avenue when a northbound vehicle struck a third car. The northbound vehicle then crashed into Harrison’s car, police reported.

Harrison’s car caught fire, and multiple bystanders stepped in to aid first responders, police reported. The flames eventually were extinguished.

Harrison was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where she was pronounced dead from injuries, according to police. They said the driver of the northbound car, whom police did not identify publicly, was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

It’s unclear whether the driver of the third vehicle involved in the wreck was hurt.

Forest Park Police Department officials told area media outlets that alcohol might have been a factor in the crash. No citations or criminal charges were announced and additional details weren’t immediately available.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
