Motorcycle Officer Hurt In Venice Crash That Also Wrecked Robert Tomasch’s Vehicle

A motorcycle versus car accident that occurred on Main Street left a police officer seriously injured in Venice, California. The incident, which damaged a third vehicle, took place on Thursday afternoon, March 19.

The Santa Monica Police Department reported that the involved officer was riding a motorcycle through Main Street’s travel lane at about 3 pm. Upon approaching Sunset Avenue, another vehicle, a Ford Fusion travelling in front of him, made a sudden turn, causing the two commuters to collide.

As a result of the impact, the officer was knocked off his bike, onto the ground, while the motorcycle crashed into an unoccupied car, belonging to 42-year-old Robert Tomasch, which was parked on the side of the road.

The law enforcement operative suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the accident and was rushed to a medical facility for treatment. The identity and rank of the injured officer were not disclosed by the Santa Monica Police Department Traffic Division representative, Sgt. Mike Boyd, while addressing the incident.

The traffic collision reportedly took place just over the Los Angeles Border and was responded to by officers of the Los Angeles Police Department as well as Santa Monica police. Investigations are still ongoing.
