Authorities said a motorcyclist died in a single-vehicle wreck in Temple on Saturday afternoon.
Very few details have been released about the wreck, which occurred at about 2:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the Temple Police Department. However, they identified the motorcyclist as Devon J. Tomme-Juergens, 27, in an updated press release.
Police said Tomme-Juergens crashed his motorcycle in the 900 block of South 57th Street in Temple. Only one vehicle was involved in the wreck, and no other injuries were reported.
Investigators did not say whether factors such as speed or intoxication might have contributed to the incident. They also did not say whether Tomme-Juergens was wearing a helmet, nor have the disclosed the direction in which was traveling at the time of the crash.
Police did not identify Tomme-Juergens at first. But in an update posted a few hours after the initial release, they revealed his name.
“Next of kin have been notified,” police wrote in the release.
Police said they will continue their investigation into the incident.
“(Temple Police Department’s) Traffic Reconstruction Unit is investigating the circumstances of the accident,” police wrote in the press release. “Additional details will be released as they become available.”
