Marc Roach Seriously Injured in Route 37 Motorcycle Accident


One man sustained seriously injuries in a motorcycle accident that took place on the Route 37 in Illinois. The incident happened on April 8, Wednesday as per preliminary accident reports.

According to the details shared by the authorities, the incident was reported at around 4 p.m. It occurred close to Boles Lane when a motorcycle collided with an agricultural sprayer vehicle, causing serious injuries to the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist has been identified as Marc Roach, 36, of Marion. Roach was riding a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle in the northbound lanes of the Route 37, Illinois. The other vehicle was a 2014 Case IH Agricultural Sprayer. Robert Franklin, 65, of Goreville was driving the sprayer vehicle at the time. The Sprayer was also traveling northbound on the road right in front of the motorcycle.

As the Sprayer drew close to the Boles Lane, the driver attempted to take a left turn. Roach, who was coming right behind the vehicle, tried to pass the vehicle. It was then that the motorcycle crashed into the side of the vehicle, ejecting Roach from the motorcycle and causing him serious injuries.

As the first responders arrived at the site of the collision, Roach was airlifted to a local area hospital. His injuries are reported as life-threatening. The driver of the Sprayer remained uninjured in the collision.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident. Preliminary accident reports show that there was no negligence on the part of the Sprayer driver. So far, no citations or tickets have been issued to either parties pending the conclusion of investigations.
