Desean James Gee Arrested for Killing Two Victims in Wayne County

A man has been arrested in connection with a car crash that happened over the weekend, leaving two people dead and one teenager severely injured in Wayne County, Michigan. The Wayne County Prosecutor, Kym Worthy, announced the arrest on Wednesday, April 22, while listing the suspect’s charges. The involvement of a car accident lawyer in the case was not specified.

The ghastly incident took place at about 5:12 pm on Sunday, April 19. Police responded to the area of West Outer Drive and Lyndon Street following reports of a traffic wreck involving two vehicles.

Investigators determined that the suspect was the driver of a vehicle traveling through the west lanes of Lyndon Street at a high rate of speed.

The speeding motorist, identified as Desean James Gee, 34, of Detroit, jumped a red light upon approaching the intersection on Outer Drive. He then crossed the dividing line onto oncoming traffic and collided with the front passenger side of an eastbound vehicle.

The struck vehicle was reportedly conveying at least three occupants, including the driver.

Witnesses sprung into action immediately, contacting law enforcement, while others tried to rescue the accident victims. They successfully rescued a 14-year-old girl strapped in the back seat before the car caught fire. The unidentified teenager from Detroit was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the driver, Adrian Thomas Bascon, 40, and the front passenger, Jalen Kristopher Whitlock, 27, remained trapped in the burning vehicle until they were rescued by firefighters. Paramedics pronounced both victims dead at the scene.

Gee, who was unharmed in the crash was arrested on charges of reckless driving causing serious impairment of a bodily function, and two counts each of second-degree murder and reckless driving causing death.

Anyone involved in a traffic-related accident is advised to get in touch with a car accident lawyer for legal representation.
