Authorities have disclosed the identity of a man who was killed last week in a traffic collision involving at least three vehicles in El Paso, Texas. The El Paso Police Department, in accident reports released on Wednesday, April 22, identified the fatal victim as Daniel Stubbemann, 30.

The fatal crash took place at about 9:555 am on Friday, April 17, in the Wedgewood area.

According to the El Paso Police, the fatal victim was reportedly traveling along the freeway at a high rate of speed when he approached the intersection of Edgemere and Wedgewood.

Officers said the motorist, operating a Nissan GTR, was maintaining a speed which was twice above the permissible speed limit. He then jumped the red signal of the traffic light and proceeded to enter the intersection.

That was when his vehicle collided with an oncoming Chevrolet Trailblazer, which had the right of way at the time. The impact pushed the Trailblazer forward until it crashed into a BMW. The Nissan was also set ablaze in the process.

The drivers of the Trailblazer and the BMW were severely injured in the crash, but their wounds were listed as non-life-threatening.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they pronounced the Nissan operator, Stubbemann, dead from his fatal injuries.

It is uncertain whether drugs and alcohol contributed to the multi-vehicle collision, which claimed Stubemann’s life.

The incident remains under investigation by the police, and further findings would be included in the accident reports.
