Courtney D. Williams Dies Days After Motorcycle Crash

Police in Killeen have revealed that a man who was involved in a motorcycle crash last week has died.

According to accident reports, 27-year-old Courtney D. Williams was injured on April 15. He was flown by helicopter to Baylor Scott and White Memorial Hospital.

However, he succumbed to his injuries three days later. Word of this came from the authorities this week.

The Killeen Police Department had responded to a motorcycle crash in the 5700 block of South State Highway 195 at Fort Hood Street around 2 p.m. on April 15.

Officers went to the location and asked investigators from the Traffic Unit to join them.

They found that Williams, the operator of a 2009 Kawasaki 250cc dirt bike, was heading south on the east side of 195.

He was reportedly jumping the ditch culverts in the bar ditch area when he lost control of the motorcycle on landing and fell off. Williams suffered life-threatening injuries.

Killeen Fire Department personnel also responded to the scene and rendered medical assistance.

The authorities did not order an autopsy of Williams’ body.

Commander Ronnie Supak said the case is still being investigated by the police traffic unit. Additional information may be provided in later accident reports.

Police say Williams was not wearing a helmet. In Texas, motorcyclists under the age of 21 are legally required to wear a helmet. However, those older than 21 can ride without a helmet if they have completed a safety course or they’re covered by adequate insurance.
